I stepped out of the theatre watching Everything Everywhere All at Once blown away, inspired, mighty proud, sending long voice-messages to all my watsapp groups. The movie and performances explored the depths of our contemplative human existence with a brilliant sense of humour. What’s even more inspiring was that it was a movie where an Asian family just happened to be messengers of the creative message; they were just humans on screen. It wasn’t about them being Asian and that’s the next step forward for minority communities in film, which Michelle Yeoh for decades and now with this movie, have pioneered. Asians as humans, special yet the same as everyone else. Thank you for paving the path for all Asians and particularly Asian women.
I’m so moved and thrilled about their work, to celebrate Michelle Yeoh, and the movie’s entire team. Truly one of the best films I’ve ever seen. And @michelleyeoh_official, in addition to her exceptional talent, one of the most graceful humans I’ve met.
