Deanna Yusoff Instagram – Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for natural skincare solutions that I can make with ingredients easily available in our local markets.
That’s why I decided to learn about Boreh, a traditional Balinese body scrub. I was intrigued by its natural ingredients and its reputation for leaving the skin feeling soft and rejuvenated.
Boreh is a traditional Balinese body scrub that has been used for centuries in Balinese spas and homes. It is made up of a blend of natural ingredients such as turmeric, ginger, galangal, cinnamon, rice powder, coriander and cloves. The ingredients are mixed with water or oil to form a paste that is then applied to the body.
Boreh has many benefits for the skin and body. Firstly, the natural ingredients in Boreh have anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce inflammation and soothe the skin. It also has antiseptic properties that help to cleanse the skin and prevent infection. Boreh can also improve blood circulation, leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth.
The ingredients in Boreh also have therapeutic properties that can help to relieve aches and pains in the body. Ginger and cloves, for example, are known for their warming and pain-relieving properties. The scrub can also help to detoxify the skin by drawing out impurities and excess oils.
To use Boreh, apply the paste to the body, massaging in circular motions. Leave the paste on the skin for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
Some Boreh scrubs, like the one I made, are left to dry on the skin, and then rubbed off to exfoliate and stimulate blood circulation.
This method of use is particularly popular in traditional Balinese spas. After applying the paste to the body, it is left to dry for several minutes before being rubbed off with a dry cloth or towel. This process helps to remove dead skin cells, leaving the skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
