Gul Panag Instagram – #notjustaroadtrip An electrifying one! And Happy #WorldEVDay I’ve wanted to do a highway driving experience on the XUV400 ever since I first drove it last year. And I finally got my opportunity. My friends at @mahindra_auto arranged for the EV to meet me at the Udaipur airport. We then headed to @theleelapalaceudaipur where we spent two incredible days before heading to our next destination – @chimesaviationacademy at Neemuch 145 km away. I charged the XUV400 at the hotel and left for Neemuch with a full charge. 3 hours and a few stops ( courtesy Nihal😅) later we were at Neemuch with 53% charge still to go! (The road was quite bad- and in hindsight I feel we should have taken the new longer but faster highway – which we did on the way back. ) This was also my first long drive in an EV ( I use mine in Bombay primarily for local running). I liked the way she handles , the seating posture is comfortable and ergonomic. And ride quality is impressive indeed ( those village roads on the outbound trip were a good test). Extrapolating my own experience- I would say the real word range is 310-320 depending on how you drive. On the way back we took the longer route ( via Chittorgarh ) which was about 220kms and we ended up at Leela with 37% charge. What are particularly liked about the XUV400 is the best in class acceleration. Which comes in quite handy on the highway.😅 In short, I loved my very first EV road trip.
