I enjoy narratives that probe intergenerational relationships and explore the impact on female bloodlines. It shows me I’m not alone in unravelling my personal history and sh**. ‘Yara’s carefully constructed world begins to implode and suddenly she must face up to the difficulties of her childhood, not fully realising how that will impact not just her own future, but that of her daughters too.’ The epigraph at the beginning of the book by Mahmoud Darwish hit me hard: ‘All roads lead to you, even those I took to forget you.’ Thank you @harpercollinsin @harpercollins for my copy.
