My baby girl, I will heal, so that you don’t have to heal from me ⭐️🤍
I remember being SO excited when I got the call from @thewordmagazine to be a part of their magazine cover! I was 2 months postpartum.
I hadn’t felt THIS happy is so long! 🥰
Freshly out of a marriage, just having given birth to my baby & with a lot of physical scars and sadness at the back of my mind, I chose to walk towards the path that would enrich the next phase of my life.
I strapped my bags, took Abby and my best partner – my mum with me on set and I completed the shoot.
The rush I felt is inexplicable 💛🌸
And in that moment, it truly felt like I was going to be okay because when you’re going through adversity in the public eye, you think it’s never going be the same again, and that people are going to forget you and your work.
But that wasn’t the case, I told myself
that I was going to do everything it takes to make it out of this.
I breastfed Abby in between my shots and I had to pump in gaps + my stamina was not the best but I guess nobody sees that part of the glamour.
I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come despite having a lot of stuff thrown at me in this past year 😇
I chose to heal
I chose to put in the self-work
I chose to be with people that loved me
I chose to show up for my daughter
I chose ME 🥰💛
My work gives me PURE JOY. It’s super rare to find someone truly fulfilled in their work life and I’m SO blessed to have that part of my life working out for me when everything else isn’t 🤍
