Just got back from @burningman. Haven’t caught up with what Chris Rock said- and I don’t care. Why? Because as it was suggested by a good friend, taking pot shots and men of color for joking wanting a coffee or something is pretty lame. Let’s not even go there, folks. Let’s just not. As far as @burningman, we had a damn blast and I honestly don’t know why we made any headlines. The actual headline should’ve said “it rained at burning man and it made it hard to ride a bike for a day”. Yes I’m being cheeky here, but I do wish the community care and kindness and humanity that kept everyone rolling and their spirits up translated to our real world. These 80k people are resilient as hell. My fav is watching people slipping around in the mud as they went to check on others while laughing their ass off. No this was not fyre fest. It was a community of capable loving folks with way too much shit making sure everyone was all set for the day. Just like the real world, BM is an amalgamation of the best and ugly things humans have to offer. Much I could do without but some of it makes this place truly the most mystifying thing I’ve seen. Holding both at the same time is the struggle. Anyway, here are some pics of us being accidentally adorable. More to come when I upload my husbands phone at some point this year…

It’s a good question my friend @sairarao asked me on the phone yesterday and I was like “uhhhhh” —So I ask Instagram— why hasn’t @joebiden and his administration done the obvious thing to save our lives?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch this and get fired up to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Not just POST ABOUT IT. and that means signing up for @here4thekidsaction as a START because we have so much to DO. Not just watch a meme and move on. GUNS ARE THE #1 KILLER OF CHILDREN IN THIS COUNTRY AND THIS COUNTRY ALONE. we must act and we must act NOW. Thank you @tina_strawn_life Repost from @here4thekidsaction • Every single word. Reposting our co-founder @tina_strawn_life 💚 Welcome to the new school year. FACT: Every child in America who starts the 2023-2024 school year will not survive and make it to the summer. FACT: GUNS are the number one killer of kids and teenagers in the US. FACT: There is currently more gun legislation in the US than ever before. NONSENSICAL FACT LOOP: Despite all the gun legislation that the US currently has, GUNS ARE STILL THE NUMBER ONE KILLER OF KIDS AND TEENS IN AMERICA. When do we get outraged, radicalized, unhinged about these facts? When do we try something different? FACT: NOTHING has been working to protect our kids from American gun violence culture. So @sairarao and I, along with thousands of others who care about protecting our kids more than protecting guns, have a suggestion. And it’s way bigger than Denver. Join our call on September 5 to hear about our next @here4thekidsaction action. Link in bio. Space is limited.
