The bad news for Republicans in Wisconsin is that voters there were not casting ballots to make a casual suggestion and they very much do not appreciate the election outcome being treated as optional.
…and word is spreading rapidly that that’s what Republicans are trying to do.
We tend to treat threats of violence by right-wing extremists in the Trump era on an individual basis, as specific threats to specific people. But taken cumulatively, these threats contribute to a hostile atmosphere that discourages participation in public service – the very thing that makes the United States a distinct success in the world.

It’s hard to believe it was only on Monday that we got the news Al Qaeda terrorist leader Ayman al-Zawahiri had been located and killed, ending a manhunt that has lasted over 20 years.

This is an amazing story, but aside from that it’s also significant that the Justice Department is willing to treat some January 6th cases as domestic terrorism.
