Day 2 Post Double Mastectomy.
Taking it one day at a time, figuring out what works, doing everything we can to keep her as comfortable as possible and manage the pain! Today was a lot better than yesterday! Good appetite and she took a nap thank God because last night sleep was a no go. To be moving the way she is right now is a true testament to how strong and determined she is to get back to her full strength. Today was shower day and to say she was nervous was an understatement, but we took our time and followed everything the Doc told us. And y’all already know she wasn’t letting me put her to bed without doing her face lol. You got this boop! One day at time! LoveYou!

Then is now. The past is present. It’s the dawn of a new day and the people are wide awake.
I’m Reflecting on March 7th 1965 when the brutality of police on peaceful protestors was exposed and created seismic shitfts in the civil rights movement. I’m hoping 55 years from now it won’t be the same picture. History isn’t repeating itself. We are still on the road to progress.
I am looking forward to the day when someone doesn’t have to die unjustly in order for there to be radical change in America. The Selma-Montgomery march was inspired by the murder of #jimmyleejackson and was violently suppressed the first time it was attempted. It inspired thousands more to join the movement.
