Aditi Chengappa Instagram – The first mention of Chakras is in the Upanishads(ancient Indian texts). 
They are described as energy centres that not only regulate the all the physical functions in our body, but even affect how we feel mentally, emotionally and spiritually. 

While there are 114 chakras, 7 of them are considered the main centres. Mooladhara,  Swadisthana, Manipura, Anahata, Vissudha, Ajna and Sahasrara.

@thetagorecentre, yesterday’s Chakra Meditation workshop by @aditichengappa taught us how to not only align these chakras with mantric chanting, but also enjoying the sounds and reverberations of the chants that filled the room with a calming presence.
