It’s Fiona Apple’s birthday and her music and perspective helped me through life more than any other musician decade after decade. A fav quote she said that I think of often is “if I respect myself and believe in what i’m doing, no one can touch me.” She made an album every decade since 96 and if you haven’t really dove into Fetch The Bolt Cutters yet I do think you should tho. Making this dance film as a love letter to her was a major sentimental tick on my life chart. So wild to have gone from laying on my teenage bedroom floor trying to memorize the exact timing of Fast As You Can to being a grown woman laying on a floor of a loft in the same position filming routines to songs from her 5th album~making a gift to give her as a thank you with the iconic Evan Rachel Wood who directed and is also obsessed.
