Cynthia Nixon Instagram – In 2014 one of my wildest dream ever came true—playing Emily Dickinson, a poet I had loved and identified with since I wa a child. It was in a film called a Quiet Passion that the great Terence Davies wrote and directed. He could have gotten anyone to play this role and the fact that he chose me still overwhelms me with astonishment, gratitude and awe. My friend Jennifer Ehle who played Emily’s sister Lavinia just let me know that Terence passed this morning. Terence I am so sad you are gone but also so grateful for all your beautiful, heartbreaking and always intensely personal films.
