Gul Panag Instagram – This! Growing up in the Armed Forces environment- adapting ( to new places, people, circumstances ) was second nature to us . And we did not just survive – we thrived. I firmly believe, that I’m the person I am today because of this upbringing. And I can speak for our tribe too! Our optimism, our never say die spirit and our zest for life. It all comes form there. Watching our parents ( mothers are equally vested in the ecosystem) negotiate the trials and tribulations of the Armed Forces and do it with equanimity, is how we learnt such life lessons by example. Army BRAT : it’s actually an acronym. Being Relocated All the Time. P.S. And it’s not just women in the entertainment industry. It’s women everywhere. And men too , albeit less talked about . I can say with confidence and clarity that Armed Forces kids create their own space regardless of the career path they choose. And all I have is gratitude.
