Nadezhda Tolokonnikova Instagram – The Michigan Theater speech 🖤🥷💒
Putin is a war criminal and I can’t wait to see him being sentenced for his crimes against humanity in the Hague, the international court of justice.
Putin did not just strip me away from my freedom and mental health, he stole my identity. I don’t know what it means to be a person from Russia anymore. I used to be proud of being russian, now i’m ashamed. I’m eternally saddened that we were not effective enough, that we did not get rid of Putin before it’s too late. My homeland is stolen from me and I don’t have an identity anymore, but, unlike many other friends of mine, I still have the privilege of being alive.
My brave colleague, anti-Putin activist Kara-Murza, who was sentenced earlier this year for 25 years in a penal colony for publicly denouncing Putin and the war in Ukraine, said in his closing statement: “I know that the day will come when the darkness engulfing our country will dissipate, this day will come as inevitably as spring comes to replace even the frostiest winter.”
