Divina De Campo Instagram – Hello! We’ve had the biggest fall in living standards since the napoleonic war. That’s wild isn’t it? To address that we could feed all primary school children for around 2.5 billion a year. That’s a heck of a lot but when you put it into perspective of how much say test and trace cost (estimated around 29.5 billion over its life) it pales into insignificance. Especially when you consider the long term benefits.
Primary school age children in London will receive it, and I’m glad. What is infuriating is that once again we have a two tier system where some get and some don’t based on postcodes. All children could and should be fed, the maths and long term outcomes make it make sense. We know that children who are fed do better and those who are hungry do worse.
