Tom Randall Instagram – Good to have a sesh in the cellar again after a good 4 months off the cracks. It’s actually quite surprising how with this particular style of climbing (as opposed to crimping) that ‘time off’ seems to have really significant benefits. Me and @petewhittaker01 have often noticed over the years how after having a big break from the cellar we quickly return to PBs despite thinking the opposite. My feeling is that it is down to the cellar being more like replica training rather than standard variation in exercise. With replicas I find blocks of up to maybe 16 weeks are ok, but really it’s good to then have some time off after that. Refresh and come back. Seems really worth thinking about considering the number of people using replicas these days (they’re v effective!!) and their general popularity growing.
This section is the easy version of the crux of the 9a project we tried for a whole winter and never got done in the end 🙈. Prob at least an O-7?! 😄
Cheers @unparallelup for making flippin’ excellent crack shoes. Best brand in the world in my view for that… UP Rise Pro, Mocc & Duel all have their place 🙌 | Posted on 07/Aug/2023 00:40:44
