Aishwarya Krishnan Instagram – Glute-Ham Raises used to be one of my favourites back when I was training as a teen. Recently added it to my program and have seen a massive difference in my deadlift form and load. Not only am I able to brace, engage my hamstring and glutes optimally, but have been able to lift heavier loads maintaining a neutral back alignment with proper bracing technique. This was quite break through as my deadlift load had plateaued for a bit and was unable to lift heavier maintaining the technique.
If you know me, you’ll know I give a lot of weightage to the form over the load. For me, form is about being able to engage and target the right muscles involved in the particular exercise. It’s not one fit for all, it’s about being able to establish that mind muscle connection and having that control over the muscle in the movement being performed.
