Jokes aside, I am incredibly nervous to talk so publicly about my decision to stop drinking. I explain in this article why this feeling of shame around it is so common, with people either assuming you’re an alcoholic and choosing to look the other way, embarrassed but also a little angry that you’re suggesting that they should look at how much they drink. (Which you should.)
With lots of people beginning to talk about giving up alcohol – it felt like the right time and when I stumbled across @jomoclubofficial and the amazing ideas they have and are putting out into the world – it felt like the right time and place to open up.
So this is a taste of my relationship with booze and my attempt to help others give up a drug that only takes and never gives.
