I am grateful for the opportunity to share ideas and knowledge about a better, happier lifestyle! As I learn more about holistic nutrition, I plan to focus on ensuring that I share everything that may be useful with all of you. I love combining the principles of nutrition and holistic health in my approach to diet and lifestyle, and the more I learn about the importance of finding what works for me, the more I know I will be able to perhaps inspire you toward finding and learning more about what is best for you. 🤍

The more I study Yoga, the more I see that there are many ways to approach an asana: posture.
There is a common and persistent misconception that there is only one “correct” way to practice any yoga posture. Several variations of each pose allow you to create that same shape, enabling everyone to find a variation of a pose that works for their unique body and accommodates any injuries or conditions they may be experiencing. Natarajasana, or Dancer Pose, is challenging, at least for me, a balance pose and a backbend that strengthens my standing leg while stretching my chest, the front of my hips, and my abdomen.

In the same way that yoga refers to both the active practice and the state of being that results from the practice, mudra describes the gestures and the resulting state of mind expressed through the body.
Each asana has a purpose, just like each mudra has a purpose–hopefully, they work together.
Gyan Mudra, also known as the “Mudra of Knowledge,” is thought to be among the most important of mudras.
Practicing the Gyan Mudra is believed to help instill wisdom and spiritual enlightenment. I wanted to share a little bit of Yoga Foundation with you.
Asana = postures
Gyan Mudra = Psychic gesture of knowledge
Mudra = a symbolic hand gesture used in Hindu and Buddhist ceremonies and Indian dance and a movement or pose in yoga.

Yoga can be casual and straightforward to be beneficial and meaningful. I love a simple yoga flow, and as I work on developing a better understanding of my practice, even the asanas (postures) that I know well are challenging to me. I love yoga and how it makes me feel. After my hot yoga today, I will practice Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga creates relatively little training, and, for the most part, I am not trying to engage or contract my muscles. Instead, I am letting gravity do most of the work for me.
I intend to relax and rest and slow down to be present with myself. During my Yin Yoga practices, I love to use props, whether a bolster, bed pillows, couch cushions, or folded blankets. For me, there’s a mental shift in perspective that takes place when I use props. When I have something there as support, I can relax more. When I don’t use props, I am tempted to push myself past my comfort zone or edge without realizing it.
When I feel depleted or need to find balance, my Yin Yoga practice makes a huge difference, an invitation to slow down, to place my well-being first, and to rest deeply.

“We already have everything we need. There is no need for self-improvement. All these trips that we lay on ourselves—the heavy-duty fearing that we’re bad and hoping that we’re good, the identities that we so dearly cling to, the rage, the jealousy, and the additions of all kinds—never touch our basic wealth. Some clouds temporarily block the sun. But all the time, our warmth and brilliance are right here. This is who we really are. We are one blink of an eye away from being fully awake”. From Start Where You Are.

You can sit down in silence with yourself and simply see who you are and, in a gentle and precise way, continually be with yourself, learning how to acknowledge fully who you are and and to let go of the tendency to fixate and dwell.
