Gul Panag Instagram – The phulkari is such an integral part of our culture. From all things auspicious to all things festive -the phulkari is always there. Either as the main act. Or the supporting one, where we simply carry it on our forearms ( in addition to the full outfit and its own dupatta). At every wedding, shagan, engagement and jaago- the phulkari will ALWAYS make an appearance. Here I’m wearing a bagh ( all over embroidery) from @1469original . Occasion is Vatana. And my outfit is borrowed from @simranpotnis – we’ve decided to have all our clothes in JV now. 😅 Blue sari is @ritukumarhq . From 1999. And of course for EVERYTHING else.😂 P.S Phulkari (ਫੁਲਕਾਰੀ) refers to the folk embroidery of the Punjab. Although Phulkari means floral work, the designs include not only flowers but also cover motifs and geometrical shapes. Incidentally, culturally prevalent in Punjab, Pakistan too.
