It’s easy to fall prey to the societal belief that we must fight to be the best, or number one, creating separation from one another and some false hierarchy that simply does not exist. We are all unique (all 80 trillion unique cells in each of us). We are not meant to be like another. We are meant to thrive as these brilliantly unique individuals, so let’s stop comparing one another, but rather celebrate one another for the uniqueness and beauty that lives in each of us.
Next time you feel the need to compare, why not choose inspiration instead? Ask yourself instead, what qualities in this person am I desiring to be more like? What is it that I’m desiring to emulate in them? In truth, we are all just a mirror for one another to see our own inner life.
