Argentina te amo! We live in a world with quite a bit of hype. So when something truly lives up to it, you must take note. Flowers must be delivered. Argentina, you are everything everyone said you would be. You bathed us in love and screams and joy all night. I heard some of you were camped outside for ages. I took that with me on stage last night, striving to be worthy of the time, effort and expense it takes to come see this show. I am trying to commit to memory as much of this irreplaceable experience as I can. I’m filming lots of small moments, taking lots of pictures (cameo by the legendary @melanienyema ) What a beautiful place to be. Can’t wait to see you tonight.

I’m in a movie. It’s an absolutely wild experience watching all my friends on an IMAX screen. We calculated that at one point my head was 30 feet tall. ( thanks for the slide 1 shot niece extrordinaire @logannbelle) I’ll admit I was a little surprised at how much I loved watching it. It’s a completely different experience than being a part of the show, and I was free to just enjoy it. I sang along. I air drummed. I 123’ed. I got to be a fan. The premiere was wild. Everyone looked amazing and I barely got enough time to talk to anyone. You’re never really prepared for an experience like that. It was a buzzing lovely blur of an evening. @karahheller said “I haven’t been tired like this since our wedding” and that really helped me understand it. What do you say about @taylorswift ? Trying to stay on our feet in this glitzy maelstrom I thought: she does this all the time. I’m grateful to be given so many challenges and to feel like we are seen and appreciated for the work. The vision, the drive, the SONGS. She’s the only one that doesn’t get a break for 3.5 hours. And she spent all night sharing her spotlight with us. There were a lot of folks that worked behind the scenes not only to make sure this movie looked and sounded its best, but also made sure we had the best time at the premiere. It takes a lot of hard work to make this happen, and the folks doing it don’t always get to dress up fancy and take bows at the end. Thank you so so much to all the fans. You showed up. Your dressed up. You handed my daughter friendship bracelets. You danced and sang like maniacs in a *movie theater*. You’re the best.

Look at that FACE I was just telling a friend of mine I won’t know what this year really was until I have some kind of distance and perspective on it. The rehearsals, opening the tour, THE TOUR, THE MOVIE OF THE TOUR, and all the re-record releases. And it’s only October. It’s been an honor of a lifetime to be called upon to contribute to this quest. It’s a challenge of precision and musicianship and effort and shared wisdom. I’ve learned a ton doing it. I remember hearing this for the first time. Walking away with “Out Of The Woods” banging around in my head for days. Thinking: she did it. She really left one genre for another. Thinking: the story of the genre switch isn’t going to matter if the album isn’t good. Thinking: man this album is GOOD. It’s hard to remember a time before these songs were out in the world. Thank you, Swifties. For going on the journey with this music. Then and now. For supporting the wild ambition of this woman. For listening. For everything. See you tonight São Paulo! Brazil you have stunned and enchanted us with your passion, your wildness, your beauty and your resilience. It has been an absolute honor to come and share what we do with you. This journey has been absolutely unforgettable, and I hope we see you again soon. 📷 @handega
I have had an over 30 year relationship with the bass. Like a lot of relationships, we have had “our ups and downs”, times where I felt intimately connected, and times where I struggled to put in the work. I once heard the inimitable @bryanbellerbass say a simple sentence that changed how I think about practicing: You’re going to be best at the thing that you love. My personal study has moved from mechanical études and focused ability increases to playing instruments, songs, and tones that I can’t wait to sink my teeth into. I’m not watching the clock, and thinking about it less like work I need to do. The joy that draws you forward in your art to new challenges is so unique to you, and is a vital part of what will make you great. Plenty of you kind folks have been asking about this marvelous @yamaha_guitars / @bah_ra_haas piece. I will be happy to share the salacious details with you soon, but for now please enjoy this piece which makes me think of my middle school years, perusing potion shops in a 8-bit fantasy world. I’m calling it “Apothecary” Thanks for reading and listening. #myguitarbreakthrough
Some months ago I had the absolute privilege of touring the @mikelullcustomguitars shop, and the pleasure of spending an evening sorting through models, body blanks and neck profiles with my host and guide @spencer.lull (and thanks for the sushi) I’m happy and honored to present the fruits of our (his) labor. It’s a magnificent piece of craftsmanship. The kids in Bellevue know what they’re doing. Light, precise and punchy as all get-out. It’s a katana. Quick Punch: a full (ish) review in :60 or less! #up first: the @walrusaudioeffects Cavnas Tuner. Multiple modes, multiple orientations, a screen saver, a MENU on a TUNER. What’s not to love?
Hey folks! Back with a Quick Punch: demos in :60 or less or your money back. On the bench: the massive (in both senses) @wrenandcuff IC 78 OG. A tribute to a limited run of Big Muff fuzzes that swapped the transistors for op-amps and went from sweet and sincere to snarling and spiteful. This box smashes pumpkins! This pedal rips on bass! Please enjoy where possible. Bass: @fender mexi 50’s precision Pups: @seymourduncanpickups QP’s Thirst Tag: @brennanleemulligan
