Matthew Underwood Instagram – Some more BTS for you: One of my favorite scenes to film in #Zoey102 ended up being one of the deleted scenes. In this scene, Logan has everyone lined up and he scolds them after their wild night out right before the weeding – in the style of Full Metal Jacket’s Gunnery Sergeant Hartman scene.
It was one of my favorites because @nanhower had a really cool vision for the scene and it was inspiring to watch her orchestrate the cast and crew to achieve that vision. Nancy is one of my favorite directors to have ever worked with because she’s not afraid to go for the bold, beautiful, complex shots and she plans it all out so ingeniously to ensure we get all the coverage we’d ever need.
It’s one thing to have a bold, complex vision – but it takes true creativity and skill to be able to plan out the entire ballet of operations required to achieve that vision, not to mention simultaneously covering all the angles in case the bold vision doesn’t pan out in post.
