I’m so completely in awe of life and feel real guilt to even be able post this when there is so much pain and collective trauma in the world. Please forgive me if this post comes off as insensitive.
I continue to pray for peace and for children throughout the world to have what they need to not only survive…but to thrive.

M A E S T R O Premiere. This is a beautiful film. I’ve often said that it feels Ike no one sets out with the intention to make a classic film; something that will be studied in film school. Maestro is an instant classic. It is that good. @netflixfilm Thank you for making this movie. Carey Mulligan, Bradley Cooper, @maya_hawke, @mattbomer @sarahkatesilverman, took my breath away. I am not being hyperbolic. It’s the kind of movie you can’t stop thinking about. Please watch it on Netflix. Or better yet, if it’s playing in a theater near you—go see it on the big screen.

I’ve been struggling with my own trauma that has been reawakened as I’ve been watching the news since October 7th. And it feels as though, it should not fall on women—who may be struggling—to condemn sexual violence against women. I have fought so hard to bring violence against women and girls out of the shadows and have had to break myself open to do so. I did this with so much hope for what is possible. I feel as though everyone should know that I condemn all rape and all violence against women. Why do I need to post it on social media for you to know it? And why do I have to post it in your time frame? Please, I beg of you, please be gentle. I see you. I understand the fear of erasure. I see the fear of generational trauma. I understand. Now I ask you to please understand that I am fighting my own battles.
I CONDEMN ALL VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. I CONDEMN HAMMAS AND RAPE AND RAPE AS WARFARE. I CONDEMN ANTISEMITISM AND ISLAMOPHOBIA. I CONDEMN ALL HATE. I CONDEMN THE KILLING OF INNOCENT PEOPLE.
