Simply – if we continue down the path we’re on, vast swathes of currently populated land will become uninhabitable. Multiply today’s migration problems by 10, 20, 100(?) and you might begin to imagine the military conflict, economic pressure and political chaos that will ensue. It will simply be unmanageable and will impact every one of us, every one of our children and grandchildren with disastrous consequences.
If on the other hand, we course-correct (as much as is still possible) we have an opportunity to create a thriving, liveable future for all beings. This is why NOT caring deeply about the climate crisis just does not make sense.
