Hāwane Rios Instagram – i spent most of today off of my phone our children are here our family is here & their happiness has filled our home all day today we did not cancel christmas for our keiki because the comfort of normalcy and tradition is one of the most sacred gifts we can give them as the world ends for mothers and fathers on the other side of the world i cannot avert my eyes from their pain this palestinian mother gave of her world and her life 9 times over to bring her children into this realm it took her years to live and love them to life & israel murdered them in one flash of an evil bomb to the home she and her husband built for their ‘ohana as we gather with our families today because i know we will and we are may we pause and may be we do more than just send thoughts and prayers may we pause and do one thing for the people of world who are suffering on this day and every day may we know our privilege of a semblance of safety as we do our best to live under the oppression of the united states of america may we do something with that privilege today and every day may we do more than just ignore the screams of the mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, and all our beloved māhū relatives of palestine, west papua, the congo, sudan and all places and people doing everything they can to survive genocide. i make a plate for the spirits who were forced to become ancestors before their time. who were violently ripped from this world that people only really wish peace for during the holidays and only for a certain patch of white snow covering stolen land. from the river to the sea palestine and the world shall be free #freepalestine #kūkiaipalesetina #pulenopalesetina #paleiāpalesetina
