When your attention is elsewhere, their violence is everywhere.
Genocidal governments exploit lack of attention as opportunities.
Opportunities to intensify the violence and deepen the killing.
As you’re unwrapping gifts, grieving parents will be wrapping more dead children for burial.
I have been unable to post, remix, or add videos that some folks have put me on collaboration with today- I am reminded again and again that these platforms were never meant for our global solidarity and brilliant organizing- we, the people, are powerful and though these tools will not be what free us, we’ll use every means at our disposal to make our movement stronger, and every time they work to stifle us it will be affirmation that we are threatening their power. Keep going fam. We are together and together we are powerful.

Meta’s content moderation policies and systems have increasingly silenced voices in support of Palest👁️ne on Instagram and Facebook.
Human Rights Watch found that the problem stems from flawed Meta policies and their inconsistent and erroneous implementation, overreliance on automated tools to moderate content, and undue government influence over content removals.

International Solidarity is our Birthright, it is by divine design, that we can consciously unify.
Colonizers felt they were dividing us in their false sense of domination over our lands, but we are the descendants of those who survived, dispersed across lands rising together.
Make clearer everyday with our communities, our children to our elders, what the truths are of our bound struggles so we can organize around bound liberation. Colonization meant to divide us, but we stand on our lands present in beside each other fighting for our lives TOGETHER.
Our ancestors separately fought colonial settlers on our motherlands without the power to call on the whole world for for solidarity and unity against loss of land and lives. Palest👁️ne is calling for us now-we have a duty as the descendants of those who survived to stand w/ them.

change. be humble to knowing that you do not know everything & that what you have been taught has the potential to cause harm and more separation.
evolve. delve into your own consciousness and open yourself to healing your own pain and trauma – feel it all the way through and tether yourself to your own empathy
feel. invite yourself to feel from a place of awareness and mindfulness, from the place in yourself that connects you to the heart of all humanity. and allow yourself to witness the pain of others with the wisdom of eight eyes. and choose to love. and allow for that love to active change within who you are. and may that change, change everything around you.
imagine if all did that.
imagine if we all healed so deeply we valued and respected all life again.
only then, there would be so no more war.

i spent most of today off of my phone
our children are here
our family is here
& their happiness has filled our home
all day today
we did not cancel christmas for our keiki
because the comfort of normalcy and tradition
is one of the most sacred gifts we can give them
as the world ends for mothers and fathers on the other side of the world i cannot avert my eyes from their pain
this palestinian mother
gave of her world and her life
9 times over to bring her children into this realm
it took her years to live and love them to life
& israel murdered them in one flash of an evil bomb
to the home she and her husband built for their ‘ohana
as we gather with our families today because i know we will and we are
may we pause and may be we do more than just send thoughts and prayers
may we pause and do one thing for the people of world who are suffering on this day and every day
may we know our privilege of a semblance of safety as we do our best to live under the oppression of the united states of america
may we do something with that privilege today and every day
may we do more than just ignore the screams of the mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, and all our beloved māhū relatives of palestine, west papua, the congo, sudan and all places and people doing everything they can to survive genocide.

a time of reflection
a time to sit with storms
within & without
a time to listen with all senses
a time to release with purpose
not just intention
a time to honor myself
a time to know that reverence
is synonymous with gratitude
and not gratitude in the way the bible says
but in the way the land knows
in the way the sky responds to chant and song
in the way the waves crash harder and louder
when they know they are being acknowledged
for their power
in the way the body responds to love that is safe
in the way people who do really love you, listen to you
in the way people who do not want to hurt you, heal themselves
in the way people actually do what they say
there is a reverence in these acts that are rooted in gratitude
the kind that makes you feel alive
the kind that makes you feel safe enough to really live
this christmas is different for me
for you
for us
but mostly for the people of the world who are suffering
who are mourning the mass loss of life and land
who are injured
who are dying under rubble and stone
and because i know that more that one thing can be true at the very same time
i pule
i allow myself to take in the joy of our children opening their gifts beneath our beautiful tree
i allow myself to make memories with my family
& i allow myself to mourn and cry for all those who were stolen of their happiness and their families and their homes
on this day and every day
i don’t post my personal life on here anymore

i don’t show the faces of our children
not after what happened a couple months ago
when our sons face showed up on this hateful persons page
who used an image our precious boy when he was younger
to try and hurt me and my wife
and what hurt even more is people i knew reposted it
and one even had the audacity to defend that behavior to me
so now, no one sees my every day life on this platform
no one sees the ones who bring me the most joy
because this space isn’t safe enough for that
