Iris Almario Instagram – Alexis and Zen were born on Skid Row. When we met them back in August they were already 5 months old. They were starving and thirsty. Kept in a dog bag for most of their young lives or tied to a bike or a fence or anything that was convenient.
Alexis was petrified and wouldn’t let us near here but slowly week after week we gained her trust. Along with their owner’s trust.
Finally after 3 long months he surrendered the puppies and their dad Juju to us, @startswithonetoday and @jennsims10 🐾🙏🏼
We brought them home. Bathed them. Fed them good food. Gave them soft beds and made them feel safe for the first time ever.
No more rat infested streets, no more sleeping in their own feces and urine. No more eating trash. No more being left in the sun. No more chaos.
We got them spayed, vaccinated and microchipped through @underdogcommunityproject and @aspca
Then they were off to their amazing foster home @jenhwalters and @kemble_walters to learn how to be puppies with @bowieoftheday as their mentor.
They are the sweetest girls with very different personalities- Alexis is energetic and curious. She could play all day or scour the yard for rocks and leaves. Zen is very playful but also a bit more chill. Both need basic training 🐾
They would both do well in homes with other dogs as they have never been an only dog.
