Jessica Oyelowo Instagram – A note from Jessica: “The Gift of You” is the theme for the December issue of the Mothering Journal and as the featured artist this month I wanted to share a little of why I do what I do.
I tell stories. I love getting to the bottom of the truth and presenting it in a way that speaks to our humanity, our struggles and our triumphs. I produce TV and film, I write, I direct, I act and I SIIING!!! In my album (M)OTHER I wanted to explore the depths and heights of a mother’s journey taking the specifics of my own life and presenting it in a universal way, through music, to reach all the mamas who can feel alone in their own journey.
We all struggle, we all have triumphs. How precious it is to share our experiences, to know we are seen and heard, loved and cherished? You are AMAZING mama!!! Together we can figure out who you are now, why your voice still matters and how life after children doesn’t mean your time is up!!! You are a gift to me. I need you, we all need you.
