What a magical night at the DTLA FILM FESTIVAL a few weeks ago. Our Irish producer Max Brady of Max Films and Pull the Trigger of Dublin, Ireland got me a ticket to see the film she produced with “Mad About You’s” Paul Reiser. It’s called “The Problem with People.” Paul wrote it. He’s at his best in this movie. It also stars Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Jane Levy, and Irish movie star Colm Meaney. UK Director Chris Cottam was so nice to me and is interested in directing our movie Cupid Fest. Max will be our service producer. They all love Max. Extra bonus, I saw my former acting coach, Gordon Hunt’s daughter there. Helen Hunt came out in support of her former co-star, Paul. It was a joy to see the movie and meet everyone. Last year Jennifer Jacobs and I won Best Ensemble Comedy Screenplay at the BROAD HUMOR FILM FESTIVAL. That made me laugh/cry, I have to tell you. We are still in development. Kathryn Hollis Peters and I went to the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica last night for a screening of Flora and Son, a JOHN CARNEY film. (Irish writer, director, songwriter: Modern Love, Once, Sing Street) Afterwards there was a Q and A. I raised my hand, trembling. They called on me. Uh oh…say something Maggie. Well, I was somehow able to and Kathryn caught it on camera. Some days you dig deep and find the courage. But I didn’t just do it for myself. Nini and Papa Wilson threw Jared Lowe and Megan Wilson Lowe a wonderful baby shower for Baby Lowe. My daughter Emmie Cummings and Jordyn Ex and Melina Coto were in K through 8th together and remain dear friends. All our families remain dear friends. I went to dinner with Cyndi Ex and Steve Linkletter last Saturday. Steve found this old movie I was in. “ONCE UPON A SPY,” starring Ted Danson. An extra who made sure she got in the shot quite a few times. Couldn’t help myself. 😂 I’m sure you all remember it.
