Back in the city. Two of our favorite random favorite foods we get in Los Angeles. Anarkali’s chicken tikka masala and Coffee Bean’s hot chocolate. Not the most glamourous, but our fave’s for sure. I shouldn’t be posting this yet, BUT with work on the house moving at a snail pace, I’ve gotta take my wins. At the beginning of the year I bought these Billie bookcases from @ikeausa with the extenders. We talked about all the different ways we could do the DIY built in bookshelves. (I also priced out having the built in made without the premade bookshelves, and it would’ve been about 5x more expensive.) We decided to put them on a base, and use wood to keep them in place, then I just painted them to match the walls. Styling is my favorite part, and it’s just the beginning, but I grabbed pieces I had thrifted, art from @miriamtribe and other artists and special pieces bought from local sellers like @mother.daughtermercantile (the brass dove and marble vase). I gave away a ton of my books when we moved, but I’m displaying some of my favorites: a germain Audrey Hepburn book, @lisacongdon colorful happy book, and a first edition of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I also have my collection of magazine pages I’ve saved since I was a teenager. Next step is to fill it up! What else should I put in there?!? #casabellessa #diybookshelf #bookshelfie #builtin

Made my first 100 percent from scratch pie. Chickens are doing great, kids are doing great, went to church today, Nova gave a good lil talk about Jesus being a light, and just trying to find joy in the little things.
Put up our Christmas trees, talked about Hanukkah, had our church party, went caroling, looked at lights, went to a neighbor’s church, caught @elfontheshelf on our camera, tried an alternative to my matcha (@thefullestco saffron latte, it was yummy), tried a new dessert place, also yummy @azchimneycakes, played music, and gave blood.
How to document your life in a creative way… (5 easy things to do) First, look for special moments. They can be simple, but they are what your life is made up of. Second, find a beautiful way to capture it. Maybe from overhead, maybe capturing the sky with it, maybe up-close. Have fun and try having an artful eye. Or just keep it simple. Third, make sure you’re in it. Ask friends, or trade pictures with strangers. A selfie with what you’re feeling will be priceless. Fourth, it doesn’t need to be perfect. Sometimes you might be capturing dirty clothes piles, and overwhelmed faces, and sometimes it’s picturesque and content. All of it is okay. You’re documenting life. Lastly! Music emphasizes the feelings. I try to find music that moves me, or matches what I’m feeling. Save some of the tracks I’ve used if you like them!
