It’s hard to think that just 1 year ago, I brought Democrats and Republicans together in the Senate to pass my Respect for Marriage Act and make marriage equality law of the land – something people said could never happen. We told millions of same-sex and interracial couples that we see them and we respect them – and that their marriage should be treated like any other. Americans deserve this dignity and certainty – regardless of who they love. Today, I’m thinking of couples like my dear friends Margaret and Denise, who no longer have to worry their marriage could be on the chopping block. I am grateful that millions of couples like them can rest a little easier at night knowing their marriages are protected.

A year ago, we made history and told millions of same-sex and interracial couples that their marriages were as valid as any other marriage by signing my Respect for Marriage Act into law. Our fight for equality continues but I am so proud of the progress we have made, together.
This month, we honor our military families and service members and recognize the incredible sacrifices they make every day to keep us all safe. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. #MilitaryFamilyMonth

Workers should be paid fairly and treated with dignity and respect, especially when CEOs of the company are taking home millions. Happy to stand in solidarity with @uaw.union workers in Milwaukee today in their fight for fair pay and a contract that respects their hard work.
It was great to be on the road last month traveling across Wisconsin, hearing from working families, and seeing the great work we are getting done to move Wisconsin communities forward. I’m ready to get back to work and continue delivering results for Wisconsin families!
