Tammy Baldwin Instagram – It’s hard to think that just 1 year ago, I brought Democrats and Republicans together in the Senate to pass my Respect for Marriage Act and make marriage equality law of the land – something people said could never happen.
We told millions of same-sex and interracial couples that we see them and we respect them – and that their marriage should be treated like any other. Americans deserve this dignity and certainty – regardless of who they love.
Today, I’m thinking of couples like my dear friends Margaret and Denise, who no longer have to worry their marriage could be on the chopping block.
