In the past year, more half a million infants have been k*lled in conflicts across the world. That’s an average of more than 100,000 d*aths annually – or 300 babies every day. The d*ath toll does not include children k*lled directly by fighting. Instead, it estimates the number of infants and young children who may have d*ed from the knock-on effects of nearby conflict, such as starvation, outbreaks of disease, damage to hospitals, or delays to aid deliveries. Child d*aths rose to 870,000 when all children under the age of five were included. 420 million children are living in a conflict zone (nearly a fifth of the global population of children). Yasmine Aker Instagram – I will not celebrate the murder of any people. I find it deeply troubling that people are watching mass murder on social media and cheering on as if they are cheering for a sports team. My heart goes out to all of the families and civilians on both the Palestinian and Israeli side caught in this horrible conflict. I refuse to engage in any war mongering. This is a very complex situation that involves colonization, apartheid, land seizures, displacement of indigenous peoples, it also involves extremist groups on both sides and Hamas a terrorist group exploiting a very deeply disenfranchised population. My prayers and thoughts are with the innocent families and children. ON BOTH SIDES. War is not a sport. #Palestine #Israel #compassion
