Love this! Does anyone know who this is so I can tag them? Update: it’s @ridgepointchoir !
Lux Aurumque TTBB with a brand new ending. Thank you @byumusic.
My dear friend of 33 years, poet Tony Silvestri, is quite ill. He has given SO much to all of us writing poetry for dozens of beloved pieces and composers. (For me he wrote the lyrics to Sleep, Lux Aurumque, Leonardo Dreams, and The Sacred Veil to name just a few). Now is the time for us to give a little back. If you are able to give anything at all to help him in his very long and difficult recovery, his family —and I — would be incredibly grateful. Tony, each of us is sending you warmth, love, optimism, and profound gratitude. Get well soon, my brother. Link to the giving campaign is in my bio.
Had the most beautiful residency at @georgiastatemusic this past week, including this workshop with 700 singers. THANK YOU to everyone that participated!!
Went full goth last night to see my heroes @depechemode. Black gloves, black nails, black eyeliner, and white AirPods (to save what’s left of my hearing). THANK YOU for the tickets Josh and Madeline! And kisses to the New Wave 80’s babe in the video with me: @laurence_servaes you’re all I ever wanted, all I ever needed.
Life with a three year old son…
😉
I am truly humbled by this. THANK YOU, each and every one of you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
For my birthday @laurence_servaes is throwing me a neon 80’s party!! Ik hou van u, mijn droom!
Often when I am writing a new piece I will make a kind of “style sheet” before I write any notes (this is alongside my “Emotional Architecture” pictures I draw). This is my “style sheet” from A Boy and a Girl.
The blooper reel from my masterclass, The Beautiful Mess. The music you hear in the background was made by brilliant and twisted wife @laurence_servaes. The Beautiful Mess is a deep, 25 chapter masterclass in composition and creativity. Just in time for Christmas it can now be gifted! Link is in my bio.
Had the chance to work with choirs from UT Austin last week! Such fine singing and great people. Thank you @texaschoirs!
The Sacred Veil deep dive, Part 3. Thinking about my spiritual brother Tony so much these days.
Tomorrow! I’ve arranged the first five movements of The Sacred Veil for the spectacular @salastinala piano quintet, a suite that I’m calling “You Feel Like Home”. It will premiere tomorrow (Saturday) at the gorgeous and ethereal @mt_view_mausoleum, but will also be live-streamed. (Tix in my bio). I’ll speak before the piece and take questions after from both the live and virtual audience.
Lake Tahoe, Friday afternoon.
I chose a program of my favorite Christmas music and narrated for BBC Radio 3’s Inside Music. It’s available to stream for the next 30 days. Would love to share it with you! Link in my bio. @BBCRadio3 @TandemProUK @BBCSounds #InsideMusic

@ericwhitacre tells us how his first love was synths and how choral music and electronic music might have more in common with one another than you think 😇🎹 #ericwhitacre #spitfireaudio #SYNTHSECRETS #contrast
