I have both Jewish and Lebanese friends. And they are all good people. This issue is not clear cut. If it were, a solution would have been brokered decades ago. Terrorism is vile. But it survives by striking when we least expect it, and those who perpetrate it succeed by embedding in communities where innocent families become the targets of retaliation. Rampant conservatism gives rise to vehement nationalism, an us vs them attitude. And there becomes no solution but conflict. It is tragic and awful. I pray for the families torn apart. I pray for a cease fire. And dear God may level heads prevail and come to the table before hundreds more civilians are slaughtered. 🙏

May we all grow up to be like these two… I watched as security stopped this elderly couple in the hardware store from pushing their cart full of lumber outside. Together they assessed the situation and began gathering up the 2 by 4s. Within a minute they were merrily loaded and off. No big debate. No argument. No fuss. Just teamwork.
