In so doing, it has continued to enchant generations of children and adults who come to marvel at its perfect proportions, extraordinary attention to detail and, perhaps above all, the artistic genius apparent in every room.” Her Majesty The Queen has contributed her own handwritten book, in the form of a foreword, to the special new miniature collection being added to Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House in its centenary year. 📚 One of the great wonders of the Dolls’ House is its Library, which captured the literary culture of the 1920s through miniature books by the era’s foremost writers, from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Vita Sackville-West to A. A. Milne and Thomas Hardy. The new handwritten books, which aim to add a snapshot of literature in the 2020s to the Dolls’ House, range from short stories, poetry and illustrated tales to plays, articles and recipes, many inspired by the Dolls’ House or written specially for the occasion.
