Sara Ramirez Instagram – Me, @trudy0nduty and Mio on a charter bus, organized by @blacktransliberation , flashing peace signs, on our way to Washington D.C. to protest the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. We are against Islamophobia. We are against anti-semitism. We are against genocide. We refuse to stay silent. The U.S. government is complicit in this horrific situation and we felt it necessary to participate in todays action.
Sara Ramirez Instagram – PT 5 January 13, 2023. 100 consecutive days of genocide against Palestinians. Israel and the United States governments are complicit in genocide and Israel is currently being tried by the International Criminal Court for genocide. @blacktransliberation and @queersforaliberatedpalestine , among many other organizations and communities, showed up in Washington D.C. to protest what is happening to the innocent people of Gaza. Netanyahu and Biden are complicit in this horrific crime and we cannot stay silent. Silence = violence. This is a horrific situation that has existed long before the horrific events that unfolded on Oct. 7th, 2023. We may not see a solution in our lifetimes but we are bearing witness and refuse to look away. We are here for all oppressed peoples, from marginalized communities in the U.S. to Congo to Sudan to Puerto Rico to Haiti to Hawaii and beyond. Thank you Dr and Professor @brothercornelwest for speaking truth to power yesterday in DC. Thank you for acknowledging the rainbow of voices within our humanity. Thank you for reminding us we are not alone. Thank you for bringing so much love and strength to the day so we could march side by side, knowing we are on the right side of history. This is for our beloved Muslim, Jewish, Palestinian, Gazan community. We condemn anti-semitism. We condemn Islamophobia. We condemn genocide. We cannot have safety for one, without safety and protection for all. This is a human issue. This is a matter of COURAGE. You said it best. Thank you. Thank you.
