It just doesn’t sit right with me when companies advertise make-up as “beauty” products! Beauty is NOT so surface-level!! It also doesn’t sit right with me that as a woman i almost “have” to take longer to get ready and spend more money as compared to (most) men.
Please don’t get me wrong – This is not a diss video for any make-up artists or creators cause I DON’T HATE MAKE-UP. I still wear it myself and enjoy it!
I just HATE it when people use it or talk about it like a BEAUTY ENHANCER or a non-negotiable to get ready❌
We’ve been desensitized to believe that we are incomplete without makeup. In fact, I just read a survey which said that –
👉🏽 57% of the women said they’d rather ditch their date than go out without makeup
👉🏽 2 out of 5 women said they use more makeup to cover up the damage caused by makeup
And there was a time where I felt it too! I wouldn’t create videos without make-up or use filters for almost all of my IG stories, i was even told on shoots to cover my facial hair and dark spots with makeup as a NON negotiable.
All I’m saying is that makeup should be and is a CHOICE.
It’s art; an expression of you; a choice because you like to play around with it.
You DON’T NEED it. You are beautiful the way you are. You can go for dates, meetings, holidays, and conquer the world without makeup or with makeup!💖
This is not a new/revolutionary thought, but the more we normalise it, the better it gets! right?
Let’s break free together and SPREAD THIS message to mould the mindset in the right direction.
