Amy Paffrath Instagram – Everyone needs a way to express themselves regardless of their housing situation. At the @lapovertydepartment artists living on Skid Row have a safe place to rest, create and exhibit their work. Conversations that started here have led to policy in hopes of creating lasting change for the city’s most vulnerable residents. Husband and wife duo John Malpede and Henriette Brouwers also manage the Skid Row History Museum and Archive and have been keeping a record of the area’s talented artists for 40 years.
