Charlotte Ross Instagram – This scene from the series, NYPD BLUE is one I will never forget… ☺️The young son of my fiancé (played by the extraordinary Dennis Franz) walks in on me in the bathroom. The scene took all day to film as we had to line up his ears, angles thru my legs, etc. But, the scene went on to cause a lot of…controversy. The FCC stated that, “Charlotte’s buttocks are titillating and shocking” and successfully sued ABC 1.4 mil for the racy scene. Then it escalated to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals which struck down the FCC indecent policy claiming that it “violated the First Amendment because it’s unconstitutionally vague.” Seems the argument was based on the idea that “buttocks” are indeed a “sexual organ”. Who would’ve ever thought my ass would be debated as “decent” or “indecent” in the courts… 😳 #nypdblue
