Playing the Southern, sex crazed, emotionally damaged role of Candy in the feature film, Drive Angry 3D with Nicolas Cage, Amber Heard, William Fichtner, David Morse and directed by Patrick Lussier was SOO much fun! I remember when we were filming the bar scene (in Shreveport, Louisiana) I had to carry a large tray of drinks and on our first take I spilled them ALL right on Nick’s lap- not one my finest moments. 🙈 Nick and I chose to improv a lot of our scenes which is my favorite thing to do as I always feel like that is where real magic can happen. Luckily, I had an amazing stunt double as Candy definitely had some… action scenes! 😳 👀

Comedy… I LOVE doing comedy🤪 This was a series I did w/ @paulyshore @kevinweisman created by the amazing @zimmermanstan & @jb_sees for the Fox Network called PAULY👏🏻 Although the series only went one season, I had a blast shooting it as it was almost like Saturday Night Live w/ a sketch comedy vibe sometimes 😝 I think doing live audience sit-coms are soo exciting because you can really feel when a joke is working (or not☺️). The black and white “nightmare scene” is a take off of Faye Dunaway (Joan Crawford) in Mommie Dearest- just FYI 🎬Shout out to our sweet, talented costume designer, Kevin King (who is no longer with us 🙏🏼) and my brilliant hairdresser @kentnscott who is doing my hair for my upcoming project (being released in 2024) 🤫 😉 This episode was directed by the amazing @mandyblvd #actortalkwithcharlotte #mommiedearest
Giorgio was my first friend when I moved to LA (from Chicago) to be a singer (and an actress). We were working together on a couple of albums (released 1 in Germany). He is an icon in the music industry, 3 Oscars for the soundtracks of Midnight Express, Top Gun and Flashdance but also did the soundtracks of Scarface, American Gigolo, etc and is deemed by many as the “king of disco” w/ Donna Summer- has countless awards/ Grammys, etc but, it’s our decades long friendship that I cherish most… 🙏🏼Remember to value life long friends— a blessing for sure ❤️

This was a feature film I did called, Love & a .45 w/ Rene Zellweger, Peter Fonda, Rory Cochrane and Gil Bellows- directed by C.M. Talkington shot in Austin, TX. I remember fighting desperately for a chance to audition for the role of Mary Ann because “the biz” seemed to have preconceived ideas of what I could/ couldn’t play from my prior roles and, honestly, I’ve always thought of myself as a character actor and deeply want to play roles where I can be challenged and disappear into. For me, it’s not the size of the role but rather the writing, cast, director and the layered depth of a character that I can try my best to sink my teeth into. I remember how much I loved working with this cast and learning as much I could about what it must feel like to be high on heroine- talked to former addicts, etc and when we filmed this scene, I sniffed vitamin B- 12 off of a large knife to try and simulate the burning feel of doing speed like drugs (not something I would recommend!!). My dream is to play more roles where I’m unrecognizable and pushed outside my comfort zone, like this one as it was soo damn fun #actortalkwithCharlotte
