What makes Our Big Kitchen so unique is that in addition to preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for over 55,000 people annually, its founder is a Holocaust survivor.
Margaret Feder survived Auschwitz in part because she worked in the kitchen and was able to sneak some food back for herself and the others in her bunk. Here, food not only represents survival, but also hope for a better future.
Addressing food insecurity is critical, given that a staggering 39% of California’s adults grapple with this. I had a great convo with OBK about how pairing up with orgs across the state like theirs could be one way to make sure nobody goes hungry.
