24 weeks and the baby bump is poppin! Baby girl’s first Democratic Convention. People have been asking how I’m running for office while pregnant and my thought is— working women do it every day! And what I can say is this— this pregnancy has reinforced to me how important it is to prioritize taking care of our new families through family leave, child care. Child care costs in CA are among the most expensive in the nation, sometimes more costly than college, and too often become a reason that one parent won’t go back to work. I support providing incentives to businesses ie tax credits to provide workers with child care and other services including mental health support. I also would make sure we address disparities in maternal healthcare —ie Black women have 3x the maternal death rate in this country. That’s not okay. When we support mothers and babies and help provide a solid foundation, we create a better future for children, and it’s better for our economy overall! Christinaforcalifornia.com #CADEM
What an incredibly moving morning at the Angelus Temple, Church of @ladreamcenter speaking to thousands of you. I was so inspired by those I met. One of the most defining experiences of my life, and what led to me being a journalist and now to running for U.S. Senate, started when I was a kid. A family member I love deeply, a personal hero, went through mental health and addiction challenges— I learned good people can do bad things. I also thought about what the trajectory of their life would’ve looked like had they had early intervention and resources, which we need now more than ever. We are living in a mental health crisis, and we need to treat it like the emergency it is. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share my vision for a California and America where we bring back decency to leadership, an environment where leaders gain traction based on their effectiveness and not their polarization. The Dream Center funds programs to address chronic societal problems within the inner cities. They connect economically and socially marginalized individuals with a supportive community, which is key to breaking down barriers. A heartfelt thank you for having me, and for all the impactful work that you do. Vote in March for the Primary. My mom immigrated to California with a dream of growing a business and giving her kids a better life. Today, even with multiple jobs, she’d never be able to buy a home like she was able to do back then. We’re witnessing a mass exodus at levels never seen before. Some of our best and brightest entrepreneurs and families are leaving for states with more affordable housing, better business incentives, and lower crime rates. People feel like they’re paying exorbitant taxes with nothing to show for it. As a native Californian, this pains me to see. It’s time for a revival! My vision is to bring back the California my mom dreamed of when she immigrated here—one where we reassess our priorities. From the federal perspective, I will focus on ensuring we cut bureaucracy around affordable housing and that California has the funds it needs for things like mental health support and quality education, coupled with a plan and accountability on how that money is spent. One of the biggest challenges I see with the exorbitant, ineffective spending around everything from homelessness to Ukraine is that we need more visibility and accountability. California is still the greatest place on Earth—let’s bring it back to what it can be! Christinaforcalifornia.com #ReviveCalifornia #PeopleOverPolitics #ChristinaforCA

Hot off the press 🔥 Challenging the status quo in California! I’m committed to reviving California’s potential. Four in ten voters are still undecided in this race, and it’s evident they’re yearning for a different, more compelling option. The message is clear: this is our time. Time to create much-needed change within the broken political system. My op-ed from Sunday, published in @ocregister a dozen other publications across the state, shares more about my vision for California’s comeback: https://www.ocregister.com/2023/11/30/christina-pascucci-look-beyond-the-dc-cartel-to-save-california/ christinaforcalifornia.com #peopleoverpolitics #ChristinaforCA
Caught up with former Governor @schwarzenegger as he celebrates 20 years since being elected. He’s been outspoken about how we need fresh blood, a new generation of leaders, and lawmakers who will reach across the aisle to truly work for the American people, the way our government was intended. I couldn’t agree more! I truly believe our democracy is at stake, if we don’t address this deep division and start to work together. The world is watching. “A house divided against itself, cannot stand.”

The border is chaos. It’s undeniable. I saw it firsthand during my visit. It’s a U.S. policy crisis, and our response must start earlier in the migration process. Word spreads on social media to migrants worldwide, that coming to the U.S. is easier if done illegally. They know if they show up at the border, claiming asylum, they can get processed within a few days and allowed inside the US while they wait for a court date. The system is so backlogged they won’t see a judge for years. Those who choose the legal route face a longer, more confusing process involving multiple government agencies. My plan, discussed in this video, lays out several key problems and solutions, as I see it. This is fluid. One point that gets less attention than it should is that we must intervene earlier in the migration process. One example — support host communities that house migrants near their country of origin. Barranquilla, Colombia has 150,000 Venezuelan migrants, or 10% of their population. We must help them integrate into that economy. The migrants attempting to cross one dangerous Panama/Colombia crossing has increased 50 fold this year, and it’s a complete disaster. We can do this, both for the safety of Americans, and for the dignity of those looking for a better life.
Our mental health crisis demands immediate attention, and an innovative approach. One method that shows a lot of promise for our veterans and some of the more stubborn PTSD cases is psychedelic-assisted therapy. Let me be clear: this is not legalization of psychedelics, but rather a controlled environment in which individuals receive pre-care, treatment in a controlled environment with a therapist, followed by proper integration afterward. The results from these clinical trials are astounding. According to a recent phase 3 trial conducted by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), after just 3 treatments, 70% of patients with post-traumatic stress disorder no longer even qualified as having PTSD at their one year follow-up! These results are impossible to ignore. Why wouldn’t we take a look at this? As your U.S. Senator, I will focus on expanding research for alternative methods like psychedelic-assisted therapy. We need to acknowledge the potential of these alternative treatments and invest in further research. It’s time to provide effective care. Here are some highlights captured from last week’s Democratic Convention, where I had the opportunity to meet and speak with some of the state’s most engaged leaders, including the California Young Democrats. Thank you for taking the time to hear from this non-establishment politician! When I decided to run for the U.S. Senate, I knew that my experience as a journalist would shape my campaign. Throughout my career, I witnessed things that the everyday person may not see and had a front-row seat to the corruption and dishonesty within our existing political system and among its leaders. If we don’t elect collaborative leaders who are willing to reach across the aisle, I believe our democracy is at stake. This is about unifying as Americans and electing leaders whose only special interest is looking out for the people they serve—you. Many Californians feel they have nothing to show for the high price we pay to live in this state, and it’s time to invest in the California we deserve, where you feel safe in your neighborhood, small businesses thrive, and all children receive a high-quality education. Getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday by making meals for our community’s most vulnerable. 🫶 What makes Our Big Kitchen so unique is that in addition to preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for over 55,000 people annually, its founder is a Holocaust survivor. Margaret Feder survived Auschwitz in part because she worked in the kitchen and was able to sneak some food back for herself and the others in her bunk. Here, food not only represents survival, but also hope for a better future. Addressing food insecurity is critical, given that a staggering 39% of California’s adults grapple with this. I had a great convo with OBK about how pairing up with orgs across the state like theirs could be one way to make sure nobody goes hungry. Thank you @chabadbelair for inviting me to this meaningful day.

2023, you changed, challenged, and expanded me (both metaphorically and physically 🤣) in some unprecedented ways. Thank you. Also deep gratitude to those who have been part of this journey, and especially those who have stepped up to support my run for US Senate. I chose to run into the fire and gave up my entire career for this fight because of what is at stake in our country, and California. Those who recognize how hard and yet how worthy the battle is, and without prompting have been my biggest champions, I fricken love you for it. You are the true changemakers, and the reason I believe there is hope for California. And of course, to our daughter, I hope she realizes why her mother took this on in the midst of pregnancy. There is nothing more important than securing a better future for her and her generation. I wish you all a beautiful 2024, in all our imperfections. Much love, and appreciation for those joining in the good fight!
On World Remembrance Day, I stood shoulder to shoulder with families shattered by the devastating toll of hit and run crashes in our community. Their stories echo with pain and urgency—a stark reminder that the status quo is costing us lives. Damien, a hit-and-run victim, was dragged for a quarter mile—he was left for dead and ultimately lost his leg. Raymond, a promising student, was brutally killed by a street racer fleeing the scene. His fiancé was also hit and watched him die. Beverly lost her five-year-old grandson, who was hit by a distracted driver. I’ve covered these tragic stories for years and yet nothing has changed. Lawmakers have fallen short in initiating real change to stop these preventable tragedies. It’s time to act decisively for the safety of our community and engineer communities to be safe for pedestrians and cyclists. The recent speed camera pilot is a great start—we need to expand it and cut through bureaucracy asap. Hit and run drivers need to be held accountable in court. Too often they’re given a slap on the wrist. There’s also a number of other measures that can be taken to stop street takeovers, minimize speed through neighborhoods, and ultimately ensure another family doesn’t spend Thanksgiving without their loved one. 🥹 A special thank you to Cindi, who I met after she lost her brother to traffic violence, and Families for Safe Streets for inviting me to join in this meaningful day of remembrance and reflection. #WorldRemembranceDay #VisionZero
As the sixth group of hostages is expected to be released… Something that really hit me when I met the families of hostages in Israel is how, in all their agony, they are rooting for one another— even if their family member hasn’t yet come home, they feel happy for those who are getting to once again hugged their loved ones. It gives them hope. During this interview last week, @foxnews also asked my thoughts on Susan Sarandon’s comment that Jews are getting a “taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim”… We gotta stop talking like this. It’s so divisive. It pits people against each other. And Jews know very well what it’s like to know persecution. They’ve been fighting for their existence for thousands of years. May the Middle East know peace. Thanks for having me @tracegallagher #bringthemhome
