Breaking news! Baby coming this fall 🤍 And yes, that means our babies will be pretty close in age— about 17 months 🆘 I have so much to share about this pregnancy that I’ll do at the right time. Happy anniversary to the only guy who could probably put up with me. I never knew who I would end up marrying because it’s hard to keep my feet on the ground at times, but from the beginning you were so focused, grounded, and committed to us, even when I only gave you 15 minutes on our second date 😂 Thank you for being our rock and such a doting dad for Alessandra. So sad to hear the news of Pope Francis passing. I am grateful to have met him twice, and that Alessandra had a chance to meet him. I still have the candy he gave her (she wasn’t quite ready for candy at four months old hehe). In his presence, you could feel his goodness. He moved so many to tears, myself included, simply by making people feel seen and sharing a moment in time together. May he rest in peace.

Our Stu is married 😭 I had the honor of witnessing the first night @katiestu and @ijustnimeshinwithya met (>>> to part of my speech and epic moments from both the American and Indian ceremonies). How surreal to fast forward to such a beautiful, momentous weekend that was filled with so much awe and love. Stu, you are so special. I’m so happy you found someone like Nimesh, who is pretty great too! And Nimesh, I would like to be adopted into your family. 😜 Indian weddings and traditions are so beautiful and rich in symbolism. I particularly loved the baraat where the groom’s family danced their way to the bride in what became one huge dance party before the Indian ceremony! I want to start every day with a baraat! Love youuuuu and all the people in these memories I’ll never forget!!

Remembering this trip to Armenia sometimes haunts me. I had the honor of seeing this beautiful country up close, and also the horrors of conflict. Azerbaijan attacked Jermuk as I was there, so I started reporting what was happening. It was getting so little attention, even though 150,000 ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh faced the threat of genocide, a crisis that many said echoed the world’s silence during the Armenian Genocide of World War I, when 1.5 million Armenians were systematically murdered. I want to thank my high school teacher, Mrs. Grigorian, for first teaching us about this painful history. She planted a seed of change. I believe storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to right the wrongs of the past. That’s why, on this Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, I stand with Armenians around the world in making sure your story is told 🤍

What a night celebrating Al Smiths legacy @alsmithfoundation — the former NY Governor and first Catholic Presidential candidate was a man of the people, known for uplifting the marginalized. Notably, the room was full of Democrats and Republicans, Jews, Christians, and Muslims, NY Jets and Patriots fans, and somehow they managed to all get along 😆 The speeches always address our differences through humor and ultimately sent a message of unity. The night’s honoree, Robert Kraft @patriots, is leading the charge against the de-humanization of those who have opposing views. A sweet moment was when Kraft, a Jew, and Cardinal Dolan, Catholic, exchanged the caps worn in their respective religions (zucchetto and kippah). You may notice in the video I’m at the gala with a huge cooler. California is about to get even more unaffordable. Two oil refineries— near the port of LA and in northern CA — are the latest in a growing number to announce they’ll leave the state. They represent nearly 20% of the our supply, which means we will now need to import that oil using long-hail oil tankers that burn high sulfur bunker fuel, are not subject to the same regulations, and increase the chance of spills. It is more harmful to the environment and more costly for you, the consumer. A new USC study found gas prices are the highest in the country here mainly because it costs oil companies 35% more to operate in CA, which is partly why many have left. I’m extremely passionate about protecting our environment, and you have to be smart about it. Sometimes well-intended politicians undermine the effort to protect the environment through failure to look at the big picture, and policies that do not meet the moment (ie announce all cars must be electric by 2035 and a month later the electrical grid fails cause we have not properly built up the infrastructure yet). We need to meet the current demand and simultaneously spawn innovation. Part of doing the work is making sure those who care for Mother Earth don’t unintentionally undermine their own movement. 🌏 🌱

And thank you for your leadership @thecalguard I was brought on days before the fires broke out as part of a new team with a mission to support Cal Guard communications in modern, innovative, and meaningful ways. At the onset of the L.A. fires, the team was pulled in to support real-time emergency communications and the results kind of blew everyone away. On social alone, our small team of 3-5 people helped the Guard quickly reach over 1.5 million people. The result was rapid, high-impact communications that cut through the noise — getting vital updates to the public, reinforcing the state’s emergency response messaging, and showing Californians the real work being done on the ground. It proved that this kind of communications capability is essential. Thank you COL Brandon Hill and Carl Trujillo for your vision and leadership. It’s an honor to serve.
