We have a walker 😩 Alessandra started taking steps around 8-9 months (she loves to explore and be on the move!), and the past week we’ve really seen her confidence go up and she’s finally trusting herself enough to walk longer distances. We mayyyy have used props like a banana and other things she loves to encourage the process ha. Being her mama and watching her grow is the greatest joy of my life, I hope she feels how much we love her. My heart can’t even take it. 🤧

Despite redlining and displacement, Black families built a thriving community where 80% owned their homes, twice the national average. Homeownership became their path to generational wealth. Then the Eaton fire struck. But what happens next? That’s the real test—one that could set a powerful example for the nation. Every year, millions of monarch butterflies arrive in Mexico from November to March, just in time for Día de los Muertos, when many believe they carry the spirits of loved ones returning home. This marks the completion of an epic 3,000-mile journey from as far north as Canada. While we’ve just received hopeful news that the number of monarchs wintering in Mexico doubled in area compared to the previous year, a study published last week in Science warns that the total number of monarchs in the U.S. has decreased by 22% over the past 20 years. This is a serious issue—pollinators are responsible for 75% of our food crops! Monarch numbers have dwindled due to habitat loss, but scientists say the best way we can help is simple: plant native milkweed.
