Daniella Rabbani Instagram – ✌🏼💕Every time I leave my family for an advocacy trip, I write that this fight is inspired by them. Which has become true and false. Yes- I want to leave the world a more harmonious place, a safe and loving place, for them. But I won’t “fight” for it. I won’t “combat hate”. What I’m learning is that fighting got us all only so far. So what I’ll do is engage. I’ll educate. I’ll listen and I’ll learn too. I will regulate and moderate. I won’t “arm myself” with information but I’ll become literate. My family lineage is one of war (and certainly not by choice). My great-grandparents, my grandparents, my parents: all survivors of one war or another. I am the only one of my American born Jewish siblings who hasn’t been caught in the literal crossfire in Israel. I would have every right to take up the sword and defend myself. But that is not my weapon of choice. In fact, I choose to go unarmored. I have the privilege and the dumb luck to do so. I’ll take it. I’ll take it and I’ll ride with it. All the way to Washington DC to reunite with @henmazzig at @israelcc in the name of keeping our children safe on college campuses and in the world. 💕✌🏼
