Elisa Sednaoui Instagram – The story of a name: Funtasia. ✨ We are born as an international, cross-cultural education organization, focused on improving the quality of education through the strengthening of life skills. Creativity is one of the main tools we use.🖍️ 🌎Our research and development work began in Egypt and Italy. We set out to find a name that would carry meaning across various languages. A point of connection, between Germanic languages like English, Latin such as Italian and Spanish, as well as Arabic. 🚀”Fantasia” first appeared thanks to one of our longtime advisers @NadaMobarak. “FAN” فن is Art in Arabic. Fantasia, fantasy, implies the wider term of imagination. It was when we were talking about it with the then-director of @SaveTheChildrenItalia, Valerio Neri, that he said “Oh yes, I like that, like FUN-tasia”. In that instant we knew the name was “born”. The overall process to get to this point took nearly 2 years. Many other names were vetted. FUNTASIA incapsulates many of our pillars: creativity, imagination and FUN. Having a playful, memorable time is a key ingredient of any truly transformative educational experience. For those whose life has been transformed by Funtasia, it has become an approach to life, a way of thinking.✨ Our Social Enterprise is “Funtasia Enterprise”, to show how it’s possible, within the predominantly capitalistic cultures around the world, to build ethical businesses that bring actual, concrete benefits to the society, as well as profits. Creating products that are needed for our socio-emotional wellbeing, our connection with eachother, whilst generating opportunities for capacity building and employment worldwide.🚀 Our Enterprise CRS program enables disadvantaged young people access to the products and 5% of all the yearly Funtasia Enterprise profits are donated to its’ NonProfit arm Funtasia Impact, to continue making this educational approach available to underserved communities. #FuntasiaApproach #FuntasiaFacilitators
