The last few weeks have reminded me about the power of friendship. Three weeks ago, Supanna, my oldest friend that has been battling cancer for 6 years, suffered a medical setback in the form of a stroke. Since then, I have been by her side, just as she has been there for me.
She is one of the good ones.
I can’t imagine getting through my adult life without her right there with me. At its core, that’s what friendship is, right? It’s the invisible foundation that keeps us propped up even when it feels like our legs are ready to give out beneath us. Friends are what get us through the rocky times we all face in different ways.
This week, she was transferred to a facility. And we’re going to be right by her side, just like she would be with us.
The universe works in mysterious ways. Supanna played a key role in bringing Selena and I back together, and now it’s our turn to use that same power of friendship to help her.
That’s where #NoBeefJustSalsa came from in the first place. It was Supanna, making me realize that, at the end of the day, our friends and family are all we’ve got.
That’s why ALL proceeds from the No Beef Just Salsa sales will now be going directly back to her family and the continued fight for our friend. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and help in these trying times. Tell your friends you love them. Do it today. Because really, nothing else matters. Link in my bio to purchase your No Beef Just Salsa merch in honor of friendship. Thank you 💜

Last week I got the opportunity to visit Mexico City with a group of Mexican American artists and learn more about our roots and ancestors.
We got to visit the Herdez foundation where we got to learn about traditional Mexican cuisines and explore its library with the most extensive collection of Mexican cook-books in the world. We got to make tortillas and taste all the different salsa’s including mine. The way I connect with my Mexican heritage is through food so this experience was transformative.
Thank you #conequis for the wonderful experience.
