How can any human watch this without feeling anything? So many of you defended Israel to me in the past 97 days. So many Hawaiians. So many people of color. And I am really at a loss at how lost so many of our own people are. Did you forget that your recent ancestors survived attempted erasure and genocide? Pehea kou piko? Honestly, where is your soul? Where is your heart? Where is your aloha? I’m so disappointed in how silent Hawai’i has been as a whole. We absolutely could be doing more as an illegally occupied state under duress of the evil governance of the United States of America. We could be uniting more. We could be remembering that Palestine showed up for us when we were on the frontlines of Mauna Kea. We could be remembering that their lives matter just as much as our own and every one else’s.
