We wanted to share some hot tips & words of encouragement as we all root ourselves in the sacredness of International Solidarity to demand an end to the violence and occupation. We understand that not every strategy is possible for everyone. Striking is afforded to all of us, it doesn’t have to mean one thing, but does invite you all to radically imagine how you and your community can collectively disrupt this harmful system so they pay attention. ❤️Make a plan of what you can commit to, it could be emailing your representatives, calling people in your community to have deep meaningful conversations with them about Free Palestine, disrupting your work by making a presentation making a point about a specific area of interest in regards to the Genocide. Remember, this genocide is a human rights issue, a womens rights issue, a war on children, a disability rights issue, a climate issue, there are various ways you can engage with your work and community and disrupting the comfort and business as usual in order to make a difference. Hāwane Rios Instagram – huiiiisss 🌀 this is how music makes me feel ☝🏾 join me 4pm at the mana fest for an intimate acoustic set of prayerful mele dedicated to all the places and people that are in need of our care, our actions, and our love. i haven’t played a lot of music in public in the past few years. i miss it and am making a very clear intention change that. this year is for making and sharing music. this year is for singing through it all. this year is for giving my 15 year career in this industry a real chance. it is for experimenting with and embracing a new sound, new look, new every thing. i love music and i love my land. i sing about both of those things and i write about a lot of different experiences that i don’t ever really share. i love all kinds of genres and i love to create. i’m not going to make myself so small anymore. i’m not going to make my goals and my dreams for my artistry so small anymore. i don’t want to box it up so much. i want to be free and give myself the sovereignty to expand. so that is exactly what i’m doing. thank you for supporting me along this whole journey. mahalo from my heart for and resonating with the mele i have offered in these spaces. it is my sincere hope and intentional action to bring more songs and chants into the world. hope to see you at mana fest! 📸: @wildsouladventure
